Working out on an empty stomach...

You should be fine as long as your last meal of the day is reasonably nutritious and filling. I do this at the weekend as I go to the gym weekdays in the evening and in the mornings at the weekend
It's also a reasonable ploy if you are on a fat-busting mission. As a precaution take an energy gel or drink with you in case you start to hit the wall or feel faint. I use Maxim gels as they are resealable!

I want to go to my gym 4 days a week to do a 45 stint of cardio before work around 0630, and have breakfast when I get home (Scotts Porridge and a banana) Is it advised or beneficial to do it like this, should I maybe eat half a banana before I go?
It'll only matter when you get your bodyfat to 8% ish. Then your diet will have to be very precise. If you miss out food first you'll experience dizziness andbalance problems as your blood sugar levels dip too low during the workout.Up til then you'll probably just feel bloody hungry.Depends on the previous nights' meal as well,of course.
