So now we have some more legislation to deal with from next month! Seems all cars you own have to be either insured or SORN'd or you will be fined £100 at the least or hung, drawn and quartered at worst.

What happens with the classic projects I have which have been off the road since the mid 80's and therefore do not require a SORN under the current rules? Should they be declared on MID or what?

Don't fancy being caught out by a loophole.

Anybody know?

As with any new law there are likely to be situation that they haven't thought through.
Generally I'm in favour of the idea of driving un-insured vehicles off the road.

I guess it would be a good idea to get any vehicle that isn't on the road officially SORN.

Agree, I would have no problem in applying for SORN for my older classic projects. But the current system wont let me! I just want to make sure I don't get a knock on the door from some plod one day, wanting to crush my XK 120!
