In fecked off here.
It's payday so checkedcthe bank as per norm only to find it at c 25% less than it should be. No payslip as yet will get that tonight.

So phones payroll to be told it's a private medical fee family cost which has been backdated to your employment start date. Note I'm permitted to a certain level of cover free.
I've never requested additional cover nor have I ever seen any indication of costs nor was I informed that I was on a premium level so even if I wanted it which I didn't especially seeing the cost plus other family members have their own anyway I couldn't have had it's benefit.

What should I do? bupa physically have charged the company.

I'll speak to line mgr shortly.

As far as I'm concerned even IF it were a valid charge they should do it over x period of time in full agreement.

Help please I'd livid here my mortgage is going to bounce as well dye to this and no doubt other bills.

What help can we give?

Is this cover something you have agreed to in the terms and conditions of your employment?

Was this something you perhaps were meant to opt out of but failed to do so, or is this something you are being told you signed up to, but dont recall doing so?

When I signed up for my private medical INS it asks for a total of three pieces of information.
My details
my dependants details and then in small brackets if eligable - they aren't
and sign and date

no where does it state that I accept to pay the additional costs of £x.

Also the form apparently changed at that time and I had used an old form.
I'm ferking angry.

Perhaps I am missing something smile but surely the easy solution is to ring up the bank and move some of the standing orders so that they are a couple of days later. Then move the money from your other accounts?

Move it back the other way?

And it might be a bit late to say this, but what would you have done if your salary was late for some reason? Having your bills set up to pay onthe same day money is due in is a diaster waiting to happen (imo obviously.)

too late - fees have been incurred.

Can we ignore the bank charges issue thats minor relative to the main problem.

The only thing that I can suggest is that you speak to HR and explain the situation - taking a lump payment is causing you hardship.

If you have indicated that you want to be part of the healthcare scheme/not opt out of it, then they'd be able to bill you for it/tax you at source for a benefit in kind (delete as appropriate).

Im eligable for say grade 2 however they have put me through as Grade 3 (3 being higher) however never communicated that and now expect me to pay the difference backdated. ...

Once again I ask you - was this part of your employment contract? I include in that any agreement you may have uwittingly signed allowing you to be upgraded to a more expensive scheme without notification.

I would expect that any agreements regarding financial products such as insurance would have been covered by all sorts of legal protection that would include transparancy and ability to opt out within a set period of the signing up date (if you did, indeed, actually sign up to this). In other words, you canot be railroaded against your will into having to pay for a financial product you do not want.

I thought I'd bring this thread to a close - it has been resolved.

Costs fully refunded and ongoing cost eliminated, policy amended to the correct level for my grade.

Thankfully this hasnt taken too long - although I will stil be cncerned until the funds are in my bank.
