Anyone got any more info on where things may be happening this week, particularly which base will be providing recovery/divert? Yeovilton is my closest, so may pop over there tomorrow/Weds if anything is likely to be happening. I know they had C-2's in over the weekend and Lyneham had a couple F/A-18 visitors for fuel.

An area brief for EGTT for the next 7 days at http://www.ais.org.uk will get you the pertinent NOTAMs.

If you use Chrome, you can add this extension which will give you a graphical plot and some filtering tools.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/foncpdbd...

A two day potted summary of warnings and restrictions here:

Filtering on 'WA - Exercises' should cover the fun'n'frolics down in the Westcountry.

People were reporting F/A-18s over Chivenor and North Devon yesterday, and last night.

And did I see a Galaxy doing a couple of circuits of Exeter airport yesterday afternoon? Came in, swooped low along the runway, climbed, then circled around Exeter before heading off to the east. Never seen anything so big in the air before. I'll try and post a (very grainy) pic up if I can.

It was a C-17. Came over me in Honiton a couple of times. I have seen them doing this at Exeter a couple of times before. Not sure what they're up to.

Yep, that'd be the one. That was big enough though, a Galaxy must look colossal in comparison.

The exercises has been binned now as the USN are afraid of the potential ash cloud and do not want to risk it due to their final destination.
