Italian GP - Where to stay??
Discussion
I stayed here a few years ago and would highly recommend it - http://www.locanda.it/eng/locanda.html
It's very central, the rooms are nice and as a bonus IMO it's not like a hotel at all, the rooms are just scattered around an apartment building (I don't like big hotels!)
We got to and from Monza on the special free trains they run from the main station, but it took bloody ages and was very cramped so I'd look at alternatives if I went again. We didn't sit in a grandstand but having walked the track after the race ISTR thinking that one of the stands by Variante Dello Roegia would be ideal, but I'm not 100% on that.
If you have a free day then get the train to Como, the lake is beautiful. Milan itself is unpopular on here but I loved it, especially for just wandering around and people watching. Lots of hot women too!

Lake Como as suggested above. Depending on your budget there are some lovely hotels - my favourite is La Darsena in Tremezzo - http://www.centrohotelslakecomo.com/darsena_tremez...
Just got back from a 4 day stay there
