Subaru STI Dash Bored Malfunction

Hi Guys

Was on my way home the other day when i could smell electrical burning coming from my speedo then they just stopped working MPH and Rev counter just died.When i got home i got it out and found that the green circuit bored had burned out but it does not seem that bad has anyone ever had this problem and can it be sorted its an STI 03

It very probably is repairable but you need to know your way around schematic diagrams, electronic test equipment, the testing process, and you'll need good soldering skills to make repairs thereafter.

You're better off getting in touch with a specialist breaker like Grade A Subaru (talk to Andy) and get a used set of clocks from them. Will be a much quicker fix as it's a straight swap and you can always have a go and repair the damaged clocks if you wish, swap back when it's fixed so you keep your original clocks and sell the one you just bought.

Cheer for getting back to me iam Picking up a set of second hand ones on Wednesday from a breaker but are off a 2004 STI do you think they will fit?

I work for a big offshore oil company that has a lab centre that deal with this sort of circuit boards i am sure some of that guys will manage to get it sorted out just that i need a set asap as car is getting remapped on Friday and not back to work for 2 weeks

2004 STi clocks will be a straight swap, no worries. Good luck with the remap.

Cheers for the advise think i will go in past my work before i go into the brakers to see if it can be sorted and how long it would take never know maybe i wont need the other set well hopefully
