Another daft question - just got my Chimaera and I need to know how and where in the boot does the space saver wheel go ? It was just loose in the boot when I collected the car so I thought I was being clever when I strapped it to the tie down loops on the drivers side but this morning when I went to put the roof panel in it woudn't fit.
Any picture around showing the correct layout please.
I need a "Bible" any one got one for sale - I have an S3 Bible as new which I will advertise on pistonheads if anyone is interested.
Cheers
Steve

There is usually a pair of rubber straps that stretch between the boot floor and the top of the tank to hold the wheel against the tank.

You can even fit the roof in with the wheel in this position idea

Personally I've ditched mine and have a can of sealant instead, makes getting the roof in easier and creates a bit more space for the other half to stuff with all manner of random rubbish.

Me too - to be honest the thought of driving anywhere on that spacesaver is troubling to me, you can only do 50 miles on them IIRC !?

O/T

I've just realised I've been putting my roof in boot the wrong way round for the past two years based on this photo. Whoops! I always had the inside of the roof facing towards the rear of the car, the way in the image does make much more sense though eg curving around the fuel tank. getmecoat

What do most people do: windscreen side of the roofpanel up or down?
Mine is always down.

Pretty sure the handbook says windscreen end down. That's how I do it, I would say if it fits in, it's fine!

Handbook says:

"To place the panel in the boot hold it vertically with the windscreen edge up and the roof material facing rear. Place the left hand side into the boot, push over to the left and then lower the right hand side in"

Trying to remember how I do it! Roof mostly always in the boot. It's amazing how you can't recall something that you 'Just do'
