After seeing pictures of the New ST I couldnt help but feel a little let down by the styline, although I seen the car in the flesh in Geneva, it still didnt bowl me away like the first one did. Having a spare hour in work this morning I set about photoshopping my version of what the 2011 ST should look like, although not perfect, I was pleased with my end results in comparrison with the original.

Original:

PhotoShop:

Changes include: Oversized front grille, double foglights, lowered roof line, 3 door conversion on a SWB, tinted and re-shaped rear window, smaller reg plate - As well as the few colour changes.

Hope the double fog lights aint too offensive for your eyes smile

Not a fan of the double fog lights personally, but like it apart from that. smile To be honest, removing the ugly filler cap alone makes it look a lot cleaner.

hehe Despite being bigger, I somehow think it looks less Vulgar in larger form - less fish like!

I really like what you've done there. The diagonal weird bits in the original ST's bumpers kinda p1ss me off a bit, so yours is better.

^^ They wouldn't be offensive to look at, but you just know some oik would have them blazing through everyones retinas on his way to McDonalds.

There's nothing overly wrong about the front end - it's the rear that's the problem.

Is there not a 3 door ST to compare your one too? Agree that a bigger grille would add more presence - not sure about the extra lights though... biggrin

I think it looks great.

Any idea what the drag effects of the larger grill would be, though? That may well be a consideration now everyone's after fuel savings.

aren't they going to keep the focus as a 5door? and instead use its platform to do a puma.

Agreed smile

Not a fan of the double fog lights, but the rest is a big improvement.

That looks damn good IMHO. The front is somehow reminiscent of the Puma to me. The lights I suppose.

Now we're cooking, Mk2 I like!

The double foglights was kinda dominating the design to my eye, and with something that I didn't like very much. This is much better. Surprising what the lowered roofline does to the stance, though sadly we can't expect to see that happen. The rear window is lovely compared to the original, though. Top work!

As for the grille knackering up the aero at the front end, most of it could be blanked off to avoid that if it was a big problem.

Yes that latest one is lovely! Looks really nice in the blue and the grey. Ford haven't released any three door pictures yet have they?

No, as mentioned above by another PH, apparantley Ford have no intention of releasing a 3 door ST, I think this will be a real shame as the 3 door ST's seem FAR more popular than the 5 door. I suppose it will define the Focus RSIII as the only 3 door fast focus when it eventually gets launched probably 2013 or beyond...

Interview with Jost Capito (global performance vehicle director) said they're not going to make a 3dr.

I didn't even think there was going to be a 3dr version of the boggo Focus

Mark 2 looks top, i've also heard there will defonately be no 3 door due to the poor overall sales of the 3 door focus. Shame as my money would have a chance of going to ford again, but instead i'm looking forward to see the vxr!

cheers
