Wide-angle adapter

If I go the DSLR route, my nice 24-50mm zoom becomes a rather dull 36-75mm. That's a pity because I like a nice helping of w/a.

I can't justify the crazy prices for a 16mm lens - so can I get a decent screw-on adapter that will fit a 62mm filter thread?
