Went to see Adam Ant last night...

at the O2 Academy, Glasgow.

I never got to see the Ants when they were big back in the day, and have been a massive fan for years.

I approached last night's concert with some trepidation, as reports from previous gigs were 'variable' depending on what state of mind Adam was in.

I needn't have worried - what an awesome gig. The man still has it, sounded great and I left a very happy budgie.

Support acts were 50/50 - Dressed For Pleasure (a band with Adam's neices in it) were pretty good, then we had the delights of Jessie Rae for 40 mins or so - what a prat - like the bd love child of Braveheart and Grandmaster Flash - someone needs to tell him he can not sing in the slightest - it was painful.

But as said, Adam was IMO excellent, and well worth the wait.

I saw Adam Ant at the Roundhouse last night. It's the third time I've seen him since he started touring again, and this was the best show so far. He's looking a lot happier, fitter and slimmer these days, and you would never believe he's now 62!

This concert began with the Kings of the Wild Frontier album in its entirety and concluded with lots of other songs from his earlier and later career, including favourites Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming.

My mother took me to see Adam and the ants at the Glasgow Apollo in 1981,they were fantastic.I remember faintly there was a white sheet thing at the start of the gig and a black still silhouette of adam behind it,then it moved and it was him,nearly peed myself lol,it was a great night!!
Made even greater,obscurely,by a near clone of one of my first ever crushes tagging along with us(still don't know who she was) but a near perfect Sheena Easton double,i was a happy boy in all sorts of curious ways that night! ;-)

Me too. He wrote an Odyssey hit and has stood as a Scottish independent loony type candidate in elections. Also won't play/visit England at all IIRC

Heard him talking on the radio maybe a year ago. Very, very sharp and witty and seemed in much better health than in previous years.

He didn't sing it on Sunday, but he sang it at the previous gig I went to.

My manager goes to see him every year it seems. She's convinced he looks for her in the audience.
