Help!

I'm going from Edinburgh to King's Cross railway station in the morning. My train gets into London just before noon. I have to be at a place called Heston, which is near Heathrow airport, by 1400.

I know St Pancras is next to King's Cross. Can anyone help me plan my journey? Or I should say can anyone plan my journey for me? smile I ain't paying taxi prices so need train, tube whatever else.

Thanks,

Les

Hi,

You need to take the Picadilly line towards Heathrow from Kings Cross. Hounslow West is the closest tube station to Heston and you can take a bus from across the road depending on where exactly you are heading.

I assume you are going to one of the warehouses/commercial units because Heston is mostly residential..

Hope that helps

PS. The Picadilly line does take a long time

You can also get the train from Paddington to Southall and then get a bus or a taxi, about 1km.

Aargh a spanner in the works!

The guy I'm seeing has just sent me the address, it's on Victory Way. He says the nearest railway station is Hayes and Harlington. Would that be better/faster than the tube do you think?

Quickest but not the cheapest (though far cheaper than a black cab) is to take circle line to Paddington (10 mins or so), then Heathrow Express to T1 (12 mins) then taxi from there. You'd probably do the whole journey from Kings Cross in 40 - 45 mins so plenty of time to grab a bite at Heathrow or Paddington.

There's also the London Overground line (Orange) that will get you to Acton - not too far from Heston - but have not been on this so don't know about timings.

Yes, just one stop further on than Southall as I mentioned above.

Oh my good God, you must all think I'm as thick as st!!!!

But how do I get from King's Cross/St Pancras to Paddington? Trainline.com says it takes 27 minutes. That can't be a direct route can it?

Please bear in mind I live in a place that has one railway line and 2 bus routes rolleyes

Take the Hammersmith & City line or Circle Line direct from Kings X to Paddington:

or the Circle Line (the yellow one), goes to the same place and probably from the same platform.

At Kings X the circle and Hammersmith & City line share the same platform so any westbound train will get you to Paddington.
