Early days yet but somewhere down the line I'm thinking of Griff 500 wheels on my Chimaera.
Are these larger rims\tyres ? Does the car handle any different ?
My car has standard 400 wheels (in cracking condition) but always thought the 500's looked better but from a "purist" point of view I'm wavering. What does the jury think ?

The original 500 wheels were called Estoril. 15 inch at the front and 16 at the rear, apart from the very last versions which had 16's all round. I believe the 400 and 500 wheels each have the same tyre width limits, 245 maximum I think. Quite hard to find a set, and relatively pricey for what they are. Luckily I had them on my 400 when I bought it.

I have a front pair of Pro race 1.2 17" with as new Falken 452`s 215/40/17 for sale £150.You could search for a rear pair 17" or 18"..tyres cost me more than that..Correct chimaera spec ,off set and rim width. They are a very popular wheel fitted to the chimaera and griffith.

Hi all, just fitted 16inch Estorils to the front of my Chim, running 245 Toyo's,any ideas as to the correct tyre pressures I should use?
I ran the 15 at 23psi,rears (16s) at 24psi.
They may look better but will the car handle better?
Cheers N

I like the originals. Hold fire for a while as i too thought about estorils, then 16 inch spiders then 18 inch spiders, but at Chatsworth where all types of wheel could be seen "side by side" so to speak, the Imolas looked just right. I.M.O of course, Tom.

Isn't that wide for the front, thought 205 - 225 more usual, what profile ?

I've been following your posts NewChimboy even though I'm maybe a year off actually getting one myself (no harm in reading up in the meantime as information is useful). I also like the idea of different wheels (hope this isn't offending the cognoscenti wink ) and some of the cars I've seen for sale have some nice looking variations. I particularly like this one myself and it helps that the car is in the colour I think I'd like:

I also quite like these too (another blue one I note smile ):

I don't know the names/make of these wheels (I think the lower ones might OZ?) as they don't say in the adverts (both cars were for sale on PH classifieds), but I'm sure someone could tell you/us.

Thanks PJAC67 but just got the car and am having to let the dust settle down (ie the missus) before "improvements" begin. She's still maoning about the service cost.
