Good on him. I keep getting tempted to buy another mini; just not sure I can be bothered fighting rust and carb issues, and they command a lot of money these days for being so 'cool'.

That looks like a pretty good one too.

I had an Austin 998cc Mini. I am impressed he could afford to insure it to be honest... Mine was 900 third party only, but then again our postcode is the same as a part of the yorkshire that is usually on fire.

Was thinking the same thing.

Mini is a fantastic choice as a first car; brilliant way to learn about how they work too. Everything is available and almost everything is DIY with enough cups of tea.

Very nice collection, well done

How have you insured him, is he on a classic policy?

Awesome lineup, but could you not have parked them a little closer to the wall so he didn't have to put one wheel on the grass? OCD is kicking in and that's really irritating me.

He is lucky to have it as his first car but he worked hard and saved for it himself although i have paid the insurance for this year which was actually cheaper than for a 1.0 Panda....go figure. Already been through a full service with him setting the tappets etc and he absolutely loves it and the attention it gets, the smile on his face when he comes back from driving it puts a big grin on my face as well, mini's don't you just love 'em!

Dear bubblehead,

I'm another enthusiast for your view.
Anywhere near getcarter (loch Torridon)?

When I bought my 1st "car" my parents' drive wouldn't have looked anything like as good, in 1976.
Me: Morris 1000 van £90
Dad: Volvo 145 estate
Mum: Fiat 127

smile

regards,
Jet
