Mini Cooper S Works Rally
Discussion
How far do you want to go in making it a replica?, would it be a perfect copy of the original works rally cars?, or more of a rally/road mini taking certain feature from the Works cars?. If you'd like a nut for nut, every detail correct replica than it's going to cost you!. Phone up Miniworld as there was a rally replica in there a few issues ago (it looked superb), you should be able to purchase a back issue.
This is the 1964 Monte Carlo rally winning car, which was driven by Paddy Hopkirk:

They were a 1071cc Cooper S engine in 1964, then the 1275cc for 1965 onwards.
Good luck
.

Not nut for nut, just engine and basic looks. I have the 1275 engine in at the moment. Been quoted £850 for a two tone paint job which I though was very good. This is the 1964 Monte Carlo rally winning car, which was driven by Paddy Hopkirk:

.have a word with Simon who owns mini works, utter legend of a chap who has built more reps and work on the rally ones than most people.

Hi
I've found it, marathon search that has turned up allsorts of other bits and pieces that I was looking for too!!!!
It is for a Morris Cooper S prepped for the Circuit of Ireland 1966 reg DJB 92B. Mine is a poor photo copy I will scan it in so quality might not be the best.
There are 11 pages including a rolling road report saying 84BHP@7300 RPM.
For an idea of what is in it:-
2 speed wipers with switch fitted to drivers knee pad
Reversing lamp :- A/H 3000 side lamp.
Horn button:- Std for driver, foot operated for passenger.
Its a basic typed out sheet but interesting all the same.
Will copy it at work Thursday and send off to you.
Cheers
