Gaz Gold Fitting.

I am just about to fit a set of Gaz Gold shocks to my Griff, and have some questions that I hope you can help me with.
Firstly what would be a recommended setting on the damper controls for general road use,front and back.
If I measure the original ride height say between ground and top of wheel arch at each corner, and adjust the ride height of the new shocks to match, would this cause any issues with geo setup, or is it recomended to slightly lower the ride height from standard. Finally I guess that the adjuster knobs should face inwards.
I am hoping to do this job over the weekend, but really don't want to c**k it up just before TAG11! So any advice/tips are more than welcome.

ride height best referenced between level (pref engineered) surface and chassis as bodies can/do vary significantly from side to side. Foget the 'typical' figures aimed for but don't forget the springs will settle a bit so try and allow a touch for that unless you fancy doing it all again.

I've had adjusters facing both directions and they get crudded up regardless

How many clicks between soft and hard? I'd go about 10 from hard front 12 from hard rear, assuming you've got about 36 clicks soft to hard. If less go about a third from hard front and a few less rear, and adjust to suit from there. If you put your fingers in the gap between arch and wheel and ensure the same gap your not going to be too far off, again adjust from there.
Suggest when your happy with the settings go and get a geo set up, which will improve the set up more.

kev - i suggest you get the car properly set up and corner weighted it will make a huge difference. I use topcats in aylesbury for that kind of stuff they are very good at it but there will be people more local to you though - andy of apm will probably sort you out he is down your way

Thanks for the advice, I wil give it ago at the weekend. Out of interest what is meant by "corner weighting" what does that achieve, and how is it adjusted?
