Much against my better judgment, the Mrs is dragging me and some friends to Glyndebourne on Sunday. Five hours of Die Meistersinger - I can hardly wait. She has, however, agreed to drive...
The booze I am all sorted on - some nice champagne, a nice puligny and some kiwi pinot followed by some sauternes. What I am struggling with is the food. A few egg and cress sandwiches and some party pork pies with some M&S salads doesnt seem right somehow. So any suggestions as to posh party food? Nothing that requires too much effort, please! Thanks in advance everyone.

You must acquire some Roquefort and/or foie gras to go with the Sauternes...
Good meat (esp. the likes of Pata Negra et al
), good cheeses, and breads also needed for a proper picnic, IMO. Oh, and Gravad Lax might work well too?
Presentation is the key to making it all look even greater than the sum of its parts.
