Ignoring the fact it's written entirely in caps, examine this example:

ebay said:
YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 2004 53 REG FORD FOCUS TDCI GHIA ESTATE IN SILVER. THIS CAR HAS AIR CONDITIONING, ELECTRIC WINDOWS, CENTRAL LOCKING, ALLOYS. IT HAS AN MOT TILL MARCH 2012 AND IS TAXED TILL AUGUST 2012, THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES WELL BUT THE ENGINE NEEDS REPLACING. APART FROM THAT THE CAR IS IN REALLY GOOD ALL ROUND CONDITION.
Did you stop reading at the same point I did?

You have to give the seller points for how casually he dropped it into his advert.

'Taxed till Aug 2012'? 'Or car runs well but engine needs replacing'?

Presumably it only runs well downhill.

Capitals, blatant mispellings, text talk are the major no nos.

Reading things like zeons instead of xenons makes my blood boil.

"I'm only selling because i've been banned". I just think "careless", rather than "unlucky".

Trawling through the dregs on eBay and one thing you notice is the amazing caveats people come up with. It's not uncommon to see things like:

"BLOOD OF DEAD PROSTITUTES IN THE BOOT HAS MADE FOR A RATHER AWFUL SMELL WHENEVER THE CAR RUNS BUT THE SPARE WHEEL IS IN PERFECT CONDITION!"

"NO DRIVETRAIN AS STOLEN BY PIRATES BUT THE PAINT WORK IS TIP-TOP!"

"CRASHED INTO TREE AT 70MPH BUT THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER WORKS PERFECTLY."

I got as far as "FORD" but the caps were doing my head in.

I MAY BE A LONG WAY AWAY BUT THERE'S NO NEED TO SHOUT.

I do sometimes find it slightly odd that some people are so judgmental that they wouldn't consider viewing a car that's advertised by someone who can't spell or who seems incapable of operating a camera.

I admit they're fairly basic skills but they don't actually have a direct bearing on whether the vendor is capable of maintaining their car.

I've bought perfectly good cars from people with the literacy skills of an 8 year old. Conversely, some of the better written adverts have been for pretty average cars.

Stopped before I even started - the capitalised letters tell you everything you need to know.

If it has text speak, poor English, or starts 'here we have' or 'you are bidding' does me, and photos the wrong way up - mental!

I read upto the beginning of the spec. It was only when I scrolled down that I even realised about the engine needing a replacement.
