UK Motorsport Debut For Veyron Super Sport

Fastest car in the world hits Prescott Hill Climb this weekend

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (of 'fastest road-legal car in the world' fame) will get its UK competition debut under MSA regulations at the Prescott Hill Climb this weekend.

On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May the Gloucestershire track is playing host to 'La Vie En Bleu', its annual celebration of all things French and motorsporty (is that a word? - Ed).

And what with Prescott being run by the Bugatti Owners' Club (though you don't actually have to own a Bugatti to be a member), the Molsheim marque often plays a big part in the festivities.

This year, provided it actually passes scrutineering, the star turn will be the world's fastest production car.

So if you want to see whether it can decimate all opposition on the 1127 yards of short straights, fast and slow corners, and a properly tricky hairpin, pop along to Prescott this weekend. Tickets are £18 per day, children under 14 are free, and camping is available at £5 per person per night payable on the day.

You can find out more about 'La Vie En Bleu' at the Prescott Hill Climb website, while you can peruse some images of last year's event in the video below

I saw the Veyron run up the hill a few years back. Obviously that was just a demo run for the crowd at lunch, but it seemed pretty quick. Big car for the course though! The last (or 2nd to last?) corner where all you can see is the sky as you hurtle towards it scares me!

I will be doing a video of this at the track on Saturday, so will post a little video here afterwards.

Here is a little article I did for evo years ago about the event. http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/236239/prescott_...

And heres a rather poor vid I did in 2009

Been going for the last 4 years and its been excellent, hard to believe the Veyron (Blue/Black), Pur Sang, Veyron Supersports and Enzo are all owned by the same guy! There will probably be the Veyron GrandSport from Jack Barclay there too, and some EB110's and several Ferrari's on the Saturday.

It's called Semicircle, and it's the last corner. And it frightens the sh*t out of me, too. The apex is right round the other side and the correct line is round the outside. If you overcook it, you go over the edge, and if it wasn't for the bunds located to prevent it, you'd slide all the way back down into the Paddock.
