Im off to Blackpool soon for a day out at pleaseure beach, is there anything to see at the old factory, would be nice to look around like the they did on Top Gear special last year and maybe go for a nose, or is just a derelict old locked up building
No it's not locked up and derelict. That's what was annoying about the TG programme, they never let the facts get in the way of a good story. The top end of the factory building is occupied by several TVR related businesses run by ex-employees, Surface & Design, Lawfield engineering, D&C Trim, Retro paint, Mike Vernon Automotive and JGR race prep.
The other buildings are occupied by businesses but non TVR related. Worth a look, assuming you're not there out of hours or on a Saturday afternoon/Sunday.

Please feel welcome to call in at Surface & Design for a brew and we will show you what we can.Ask for Malcolm.
When I was in Blackpool a few months ago I dropped by on my way home, but it was a Sunday morning.
The main 'office' bit with the TVR Logo over the door is now a gym and is actually run by a nice lady who used to work in the trim department I think.
I'd just parked my car outside for a quick photo and she kindly invited me in and showed me a few of the TVR bits still left.
A bit sad to see it like that and gutted I never made the effort to go up to see the factory while it was still open.

Heard a rumour Blackpool Council (the landlords ?) want to redevelop the site ?
Dunno where that came from, Peter Wheeler's widow owns the site so nothing to do with the council. The old buildings that housed final assembly and the paintshop are in the process of being demolished as they were a complete mess, they may have looked recent but that was just facing on old building that area may be developed so maybe there's a planning application lodged?
The rest of the site is as stated above occupied and the lower end can't be developed for housing as there is a substation that can't have residential development within several hundred yards.
PS Just had a look on Blackpool's planning control site and there's no applications in for anything.
