Eddie - sounds like an interesting idea. Personally having driven 1000 miles in the UK in one day I can say that it was not fun - and definately not the kind of driving that PH Ecosse usually does. For me its too close to Gumbaw which is 3000 miles or so in late May but hopefully some of the non Gumbaw crew will support you!

Ha, Gumbaw. Love it. Reminds me of home.

1000 miles in a day is a big shout but im hoping it'll be worth it. 200+ miles a day on a bike also wasnt much fun but the sense of achievment overpowered the pain.
