Parking under trees

I stupidly parked under a tree on Tuesday, two days later, I have blobs of sap all over the place and a car that looks like it has just been attacked with spray glue. Does anyone have any suggestion as to the best process for cleaning the car without grinding loads of dust/bits into the paint work. Reluctant to do the whole valet thing as I am not sure they will be careful enough but all suggestions welcome. Thanks

That sounds like lime tree droppings. I took the Tusc to Newcastle and the only car park space I was able to use was on a hot day right under a bunch of lime trees near a building site.
After a full day of business meetings the car was a right sticky mess and dust from the building site had stuck to the resin making the car look matt. It came off with a hosing down to soften it, then a good warm shampooing with a soft brush, not a sponge which acts like a brillo pad. Then a dollop of wax to get 'the mistress' all shiny again.
Suffice to say, I don't park there anymore.

I used Tar Remover to excellent effect on my Caravan .
It removed great big dollops of sap from a Scots Pine which overhangs it. The sap had almost hardened by the time I got to removing it and it still came away, no problem. Keep applying liberally and it dissolves away without scratching. Goodluck.

Haven't tried it on tree sap but Halfords Insect and Traffic Film remover (squirty bottle) does a remarkable job on squashed and dried insects. And also the exhaust film that always appears at the back.

Not quite sap but sitting in the office yesterday, heard a moderate thud, boss tells me a pigeon just flew into his window (2nd floor), then drops like a stone onto the Focus directly below. Thankfully I was 2 spaces up from said Focus otherwise with the roof off it would have had a direct interior hit!

personally i would pressure wash first to get rid of dust then warm solution with very soft cloth and keep rinsing out the cloth. thenpolish with non abrasive polish

Thank you all, I put the Mrs to work and she assures me it is looking wonderful, however, the only place she could find to park was under a tree again.

Parking in London - you have to love it............

This sticky goo stuff is apparently greenfly shit. Nice - sometimes termed honeydew. Ants love to eat this stuff so if you see a lime tree covered in ants you know why - their in the shit.

One of our neighbours had a huge bonfire last night, with clouds of thick white smoke covering the lawn and making the house smell like a kipper factory.

When I got up this morning the Corrado, Chimaera and Cupra were all covered in fine ash.

Tried hosing it off before I went to work but it made no difference - all 3 cars are going to have to be washed.
