I'm looking at getting a conservatory built, I'm based in Surrey, and had an Anglian salesman come around yesterday to give a quote.

I've read quite a few things online about Anglian, most of them not good, so wondered if anyone in the Surrey area has had a conservatory built, and would be happy to recommend the fitter / builder?

Also like to hear from people who have used Anglian, in terms of their experiences?

I'd like to know too. I quite like the Amdega style conservatories but imagine they'd be hugely pricey.

Interesting, but other companies appear to do more contemporary designs rather than the default conservatory design.

Try a company called Bramley Windows. I'm fairly sure they do conservatories too.

Yeah interestingly I saw their advert this morning in a magazine, went to their site, and saw that it was very recent event! So next question would be, what happens if you have problems after its been built, and they go bust like Amdega, who were in fact relatively large? Is it therefore best to stick to the top companies (size wise) for that security?

Also, thanks Roy, you have pm.

OP - I had Thames Valley Windows just finish my windows and doors and they did a first rate job. They also do Conservatories. Will happily pass on the details if you want to drop me a PM. Also happy for you to come and take a look at their work if you wish. I am not far from Surrey.

My house has an Anglian conservatory that was built before I bought the house.

Looking at the quality of the fit and finish, I wouldn't have one. I've also seen how much it cost redface

Looking at the letters the previous owners left behind, it leaked when first built and took them several attempts to fix it, and it just doesn't strike me as being a quality product. Feels flimsy and the finish is very poor. It was built over 10 years ago though so might just be showing it's age. Knowing the previous owners of my house, it was probably their cheapest model too

My folks' conservatory was built by Ian Barnett, brilliant chap (got him doing some work on my own place next week) and great work, if a little pricey. The conservatory was able to withstand an elderly lady driving straight into it with only a small crack and a cupboard falling off its mounts. Me and the (ex)missus often used to lie on the roof on summer evenings.

I can pm you his contact details if you are interested.

Yeah that would be great thanks sebhaque. I seem to have got quite a number of quotes so far. Including most of the above! So thanks everyone.
