Not had a Westfield for over 5 year now, but I'll point out that's not the wide chassis, depends if you need it. I don't think they've done the smaller chassis for years now. Take a good luck at the condition of the chassis, 21 years old now, I'd expect the poder coating to be past its best.
My first kit car has a 2.0 pinto and it wasn't particularly quick, mild hot hatch quick if that. This will be even slower.

Not too bothered about it being narrow. When you say slow, is that top speed or acceleration? I could live wout the top speed but would annoy me if it would be sluggish in overtaking, etc. I doubt it will see many tracks in my posession, more of a weekend cruiser and rarely out for a blast.
I've always liked the MK Indy. I'm not sure I've ever seen one in the flesh though.

Hi mate,
Just repied to your email.
As said above, looks like a narrow body so depending how tall you are it could be a tight fit.
I'm not sure the suspension setup on those? Might not be independant rear?
It won't be 'slow' but won't be mental like some can be!
Say it had 115bhp...your still going to be knocking on the door of 200bhp/tonne.
Will be nippy and be fun in the corners etc but won't be 'fast' up at speed bearing in mind their aerodynamic qualities!
Cheers,
Dave

These type of cars are quick up to about 70-80mph, but performace takes a real dive after that due to the poor aerodynamics. In terms of acceleration, well mine had 140bhp with a 2.0 pinto, twin webber carbs etc and I couldn't keep up with a mates Golf VR6 which isn't particularly quick. The one above will have less power and less torque.
My second one had about 170bhp and an aeroscreen and was much faster, but again only up until 80mph, then it felt like it hit a brick wall in comparison. I did love the openness of the aeroscreen, brilliant.
just sold my mac#1 type 9r.
It was powered by a tuned 929 Honda Fireblade engine. The car was very, very fast.
Acceleration is like nothing I have been. The fact that there was not need to use the clutch was a real eye opener for me to get use to.
the car was very fast to 130....then nothing. But to be fair You really would not want to be doing those high end speeds in that kind of car!!
Due to our weather, road conditions and no garage near by willing to work on it I sold up.
maybe one day ill get anouther.......I do miss it.
my advice for anyone buying one of these cars would take someone with your who knows about welding etc....anyone can built these cars.....very few build them well
best of luck

If you're over on the west coast you can always have a look at my R500. I'm not suggesting you pop out and buy one, but it's a real eye opener if you've not experienced proper quick (quicker round the Top Gear track than the Bugatti Veyron - but with no doors, roof or windscreen!).
