radio reception

Can anyone help?
The recption on the radio on my 95 chimaera 400 is terrible. When the car is not running it is fine but once I switch the car on you couldn't listen to it. Any thoughts

It may be that the HT elbow joints have been replaced with the wrong type. These are available with or without supressors.
Some HT leads do not need additional supressors and some do - it depends on their construction.

I believe the suppressor type elbow joint is slightly more expensive but should not cost more than around £3/4 per elbow.
