Hi

Driving down to Le Mans in a Porche 993 convertible with a passenger.

In the past I have insured him via DayInsure to have a 2nd driver available in case of tiredness / pulled for speeding / drunken injury etc.

Seems as if Dayinsure will not provide temporary cover a Porsche anymore, and my own insurers will not add anyone to the policy who has not owned a similar vehicle before.

Anyone aware of other insurance companies who will provide seperate cover for a temporary period?

can you not just bend the truth and tell them he has owned a similar car before, they cant prove otherwise can they?

I added a temporary additional driver to my policy with Admiral for a week - cost £22.50

I assume your policy doesn't offer something like that ?

No there is a clause in the insurance that you have to have "experience" with performance cars before.

Renault Laguna's don't count apparently

His own insurance will probably cover him 3rd party so in an emergency that will do, but best get him to check first and also take his certificate with him
