Colours - A Different Perspective
Discussion
Will be getting a respray later in the year. It was going to be the same colour - Halcyon Space Blue Pearl (see profile) but now I don't know....
I love the colour EXCEPT when its in really strong sunlight it looks quite purple. In dimmer light (and garage forecourts) its an amazing oily/bluey/silvery/bronzey colour. If it was always like this i'd be 100% happy (well apart from the terrible stone chips but hey, that's dark colours for you I suppose).
Any suggestions? If there was a similar paint with less (no) red in it, that might be my ideal.....maybe...
Oh, and I've got antracite wheels now too so it doesn't look exactly like the picture in my profile

Random question - How much is a respray ish ? Also, to account for the little stone chips at the front of the car - do these need to have something done to them before the car is resprayed or is it part of the respray cost ? Considering havinf the same thing done as wing mirrors are turning white.......

Not easy to say - depends on the paint (obvious I know). Some of the complex paints (spectraflare etc.) aparently cost £5-6k
Figures here appear to be cheaper:

Neil, saw your car at Bolton Abbey (where that photo was taken?). Great colour, but what you want as a replacement is Halcyon Atlantis Pearl
. In strong light it is a mid to light blue with hints of oily green on the tighter curves. I suppose its like a mediterranean sea colour, if you get what I mean. Then in dimmer light more of the oily green comes through on the flatter surfaces as well, such that from some angles the car is almost green all over. I have photos of mine (Chimaera 450) in the rain and it almost looks starmist green all over. I have photos if you want them emailed. Richard

Halcyon Atlantis is a very good coulor, espically with changing light conditions although photographs never do it justice see my profiles for some pictures.

I totally agree with you. Different cameras produce very different results! And you only truly see what it is like when you see it 'live'.
Neil You have mail.
