Vixen S2 History ???
Discussion
Hi,
About three years ago, I bought a Series 2 Vixen "LVX1560/4". First registered : 1st May 1970. Sold in kit-form to a mr. F. Jackson, Hale Barns, Altincham, Cheshire on 14th April 1970.
The car was totally dismanteled and all the paint has been stripped by the previous owner. The original colour was white, but the car had been resprayed in metallic brown (bronze) and after that in black. The most peculiar thing is the cut-out rear wheel arches. Does anybody know why this was done ? Or does this car have some sort of racing history ? This would surprise me since engine-gearbox-diff-suspension-brakes-etc all are original ! Look forward to receiving your reactions !
Best regards

I remember this car from when it lived in Porthscatho. Back then it had wide steel wheels on the rear hence the cut-away arches, the rear screen was black perspex and the body had moulded on M style rear bumpers. I think it was at an early Back Home in the 80s in full batmobile mode, it has been slowly returning to Vixen-shape with every owner since. Good luck with your restoration. Geoff
