Hola all

I have been getting quotes for car hire in the USA for October and have stumbled on Carhire3000 who have delivered an amazing quote I think.

Pick up Medium size car in San Francisco and drop in Vegas 3 days later - through Alamo £0 excess, unlimited mileage, full insurance and no one way surcharge - all for £75.00. That's all in and not per day!

Is this correct - am I being a bit naive thinking it would be a great deal more?

Thanks

I was recommended this company by several PHers when I was getting quotes for my trip to California last month. Whilst competitive, in the end I actually got it cheaper by going to Alamo direct.

I have used them in the states and would use them again.

You will find lots of PH'ers have used them too. So go and book if they are offering the right deal.

Although that price does seem very low. Quick, get it.

Used them in Vegas and even got an upgrade for $30 for a Chevrolet Camaro, would use them although it depends on the country you are going to went to OZ this year and they have not much to offer there.

They don't put one way fees on the website, but it's likely you will have to pay them. Check the small print as it does say about this.

Drop off fees vary from $200-$500, but you might get lucky and get it free.

must have used carhire3000 10+ times had nothing but good prices and all of their vendors have been at the airport ready to greet us if the carhire place is not at the airport and taken us to it and dropped us off at the airport on the way. Cannot praise the company enough.

Used them a few times though just brokers like many others. I used them in the US to get a Charger but it was a long queue and I had to sweet talk the rental lady to get the last Charger.

Do check, but there's generally no extra charge for one-way rentals in California (and Florida).

The OP is leaving the state so i would assume there will be a charge unless he's very lucky!

Using them in 3 weeks, price came up at £312 for 2 weeks SUV hire with 3 drivers, cheapest going direct with National (who the rental is with) was £620 without adding the extra drivers.

I've never had a problem with California-Nevada one ways, they are quite common.

Used them in Spain, they are ok, as it was said before, middle man for other companies.

I used them in US i pre ordered a Dodge Charger! when i got there they didnt have one available!! they did 'upgrade' me but it wasnt a charger!!
Other than that you will get e-mails for the rest of your life!! but they were cheaper than any other company.
Cheers

Weird because I've used them several times and never had a single e-mail.

Was that some kind of special thing? You normally can't order specific cars - in fact US rental companies rarely seem to have the same cars as the ones that they list on their websites.

yep read the website carefully , it will say charger or similar , you are almost never guarenteed that exact model

no harm in asking at the desk whats avail , my booking via dollar was just a row of cars i could choose from , i ended up in a crown vic beacuse it was the only non smashed up car there lol

I ordered a Dodge Charger and got to the desk to be told by the lady they didn't have one. I said I'd come all the way from the UK just to drive one and put on a dejected face. Amazingly, she found one that had "just come in" and having flogged me the sat-nav (no biggie as I got the child seats free when I did that), were were away.

It was sort of fate though...
