Chap-Hop? (...or what it would sound like if the Victorian English discovered hip-hop...)
Has Hip Hop finally jumped the shark? Or is this just the evidence of the lamb breaking the seventh seal and the trumpets blowing forth?

Obviously this is like the musical equivalent of the latest Lindsey Lohan nipple slip. While just wrong in so many ways, the inexorable urge persists to fire up google (with safe search off). And just like the Lohan, once found, increasingly difficult to turn away from

It seems that this subset of hip hop has finally wormed it's way into the dark halls and back alleys of the US blogosphere and is becoming increasingly popular. Just wanted to get the take on this entertainment from the orginating country. Wot?
I think hip hop has reached that point where it will either disappear up it's own seriousness, or let off a bit of steam and poke fun at itself. I suspect this is the latter
Definitely in the same mould as the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain in that it looks like a purely comedy act, but actually turns out to have some real talent behind it.

Some how this just seems to right - Professor Elemental raps on the delicate matter of Tea.
For some strange reason I found myself fighting the urge to rush to ebay to obtain a Pith helmet, a fight I fought bravely but ultimately lost...

Came across Mr B and his banjolele stylings a while ago (IIRC from the Ukulele Hunt web site - it has a short name which I decline to use here for fear of being sin-binned
). Mr B was formerly in the band Collapsed Lung (Eat My Goal). The 'feud' with the Professor is news to me though but is very amusing.

Works for me in the same way the comedy thrash metal stylings of Lawnmower Deth work. Hip hop takes itself way too seriously, so it's good fun to see a bit of humour. Also love how very British it is!
