Have all the Tuscan sellers gone funny in the head. I've been thinking about moving over from a chimaera 500, but a quick glance in ph classified and I'm seeing cars up for 19k that would have gone for 12k a year ago!

Most cars sell for more in the summer, but really, some of the asking prices are completely taking the @&£@

Guess I'll be waiting until winter then frown

I dont think you will find its the Tuscan sellers its a case of supply and demand and while people will pay the money the prices will remain strong.
Look on the bright side it means your residual value on the car is very good although that only matters if you are going to sell and judging by the reduction in numbers for sale on here over the last year I think a lot of people are deciding to keep them.

I have been looking at them for a long time and bit the bullet a month ago. Yes they are definately going up and some seem to be crazy money, really crazy, factor in the rebuild which as everyone says is inevitable then some could stand you in at the best part of 30k.

I was lucky that i got one which had a brand new rebuild, new suspension, discs, pads and lots of other bits and bobs for i,ll say very sensible money, downside is the car does have a few scratches and marks on the paint which i'm currently trying to work out if they are worth doing on not as chips and marks happen to any car which actually gets used.

It does seem that about 2 years ago there was a massive dip in any sort of specialist car. I sold my evo 9 for just under 16k and had to almost beg it away. The same car now with 10-15k more miles would be up for 19.5k without a doubt.

If you look at the unofficial tvr blog (Great site btw), they analyse the prices. I waited ages to buy one, and in the end bit the bullet, and so glad I did. I bought at the bottom of the market with the idea of rebuilding into as new car eventually as it would be cheaper than buying one at the top.

Bottom line is there are fewer good cars out there and talking to the dealers (as I do) they are struggling to find good stock, hence the price goes up.

Happy Days!!! - More than I thought smile

I guess it's a bit of both. I think a few people are chancing it. Saw a 2001 (nothing special) on auto trader for £29K lol.

I guess if I can get close to the above for my chim, then the gap's not too high. Fingers crossed.

Anyone in the group gone from a chime to a tuscan? Good choice? Silly Question?

I went from a Ginetta G33 (RV8 powered) to Tuscan. The power delivery is very different. In comparison to a Chim or Griff the Tusc feels much more modern

Sold my Mk1 Tuscan today weeping for the same money I paid for it 3 years and 10k miles ago and I thought I bought at the top of price range.

Good cars, well looked after will hold their money

They are definately becoming more sought after, and rightly so IMO.... Someone knocked on my door last week and asked if I wanted to sell mine!

Picked mine up last year for what I've been told is bargain price so over the moon with it, defo a lot of car for the money. There does seem to have been a series of threads lately about various models going up in value so maybe this has affected the Tuscan as well. Plus in the past I think a lot of potential owners have been put off by S6 horror stories and this has been sorted by the likes of power etc offering good warranties.
