Guitar stools - should I buy one?

I'm buying my first guitar in the next couple of days, just a Yamaha F310, and wonder if I ought to buy a proper guitar stool as well?
The alternatives are the dining room chairs or the sofa...

Dining room chair and sofa should be fine, after 7 years of playing I have never used a guitar stool

You dont need a guitar stool. Any sofa/chair/bed/beanbag/floor will siffice. When i first took up guitar i simply walked around the house with it and played it everywhere

Dining room chair will be fine - It's best to learn sat pretty upright so you learn to hold the guitar properly. In a few months you will graduate to slouching on the sofa while plucking out a tune.

Thanks guys, in retrospect it was a silly question. Just was being a bit fussy over what I 'needed' to buy to learn to play.
