Hi,

Need a new set of tyres, and looking for your recommendations on the best.

I'm not worried about noise, wear or price, I just want the best tyres available.

I hear good things about Michelin PS2's , Nitto NT05's & Goodyear GSD3's but I'm not yet sure on their availability...

The front rims are 17 x 9.5, and the rear are 18 x 10.5, with current tyre sizes being:
265/40ZR-17
295/35ZR-18

Must be road legal for a weekend fun car that might get caught out in the rain, but 90 % for dry weather, excelent traction, high speed rating yada yada...

Your recommendations please smile

What car? From what i've read, weight of the vehicle will have an impact on your tyre choice...

If money is no problem then Michelin, Goodyear or Conte but i've recently bought a full set of Proxes and I've got to say they are the best tyres I've had. Fraction of the price of the others!

I was thinking about getting some Toyos for mine. I'd heard some good reports about them. But the guy who looks after my car (Adrian at XS Racing) recommends Conte. But I think I may go for the Toyos. The tread looks cool too.

Toyo R1R sounds ideal if you can get them in those sizes.

I find most toyo's wear extremely quickly compared to Michelins/contis.

I personally wouldn't put GSD3s (or Toyo T1Rs which are pretty similar) on a heavyish car again, sidewalls are fast to soft and weak. I use Bridgestone RE001 instead, but the RE070 are further up the performance scale if you don't mind paying more.

GSD3s are long gone now anyway. The F1 asym 2 is the latest.
