Hi,

Just wondered if anybody had any experience or advice in which are the best induction kits and ecu remaps to go with for optimized performance/cost/sound?
The car is a e46 2003 facelift 325ci

Thanks

Induction kits are all a bit pointless unless you want a bit more noise. You end up losing 1-2hp. I'm sure someone on here can tell you about chipping but I'd be willing to bet it won't do a whole lot unless you run it on super.

Wouldn't bother remapping a non turbo car.

looked into remapping my e46 330ci and most people get around 15 bhp and an engine that drives abit nicer, im sure it will be similar on the 325. only induction kit really worth getting for these engines appears to be the gruppe m and they arent cheap

Thanks for all the replies, going to scrap the remap as suggested, but still going to go for the induction for the improvement in sound. Done a but of research on the gruppe m and agree that it's the best but at £700 plus I wondered if there were any alternatives around the £200 mark. Thanks

Have exactly the same car as you, OP and have been looking into this ever since purchase.
I spoke to the guy from Angel tuning on the phone a while ago and he seemed very pro about their work. It's just a lack of reviews that stopped me getting them to carry out their 'Gold' package on my e46.

Worth looking into though, maybe? They're doing 'buy one get one half price' at the moment.. maybe we could team up?

its a carbon air intake system so no it doesnt have a heat shield as such but probably doesnt need one, the simota kit might also be worth a look if your wanting something around the £200 mark
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SIMOTA-INDUCTION-KIT-TO-FIT-...

looks similar to the gruppe m aswell

There you go, man trying to save you a few quid, heed his advice.
