So I was next to the track the other day, watching the industry pool testing, and an Aston hoves into view with a new nosejob. But as he hits the gas, I think: 'WTF... turbo?!'. The noise as he went past me and accelerated away sounded like a turbo V8 too.

Mod edit - link removed.

Anybody heard anything about this? I know that turbos are popular right now for power vs. emissions - but on an ASTON!?

It would fit in with them using a straight-6 turbo in their Le Mans car.

Look at the level of performance Vs Co2 BMW have with say the new 1M, and then compare to a current V8 Vantage. You can see why they want a turbo DI 6.............. ;-)

Why the fk did the OP link get removed? This forum reminds me of the communist era eastern block journalism and censorship.

The link was to the (very good) 'Bridge to Gantry' site.

I suspect the mods felt the original post was a little too Self Regarding. smile

Wish the mods would leave a reason when removing a link, not just do it and say nothing or just put `unsuitable`.
This site is becoming more and more politically correct and frightened of upsetting the authorities, it`s supposed to be a car enthusiasts site not a nanny state social worker site, if the link was of interest to car enthusiasts put the damn thing back if not please at least have the courtesy to inform the membership why, and please remember,no membership,no moderators postion.

1. This site is so good at SEO it pops up on the first page for 90% of searches so has to be careful.
2. This site is no longer one man's fun project but has a corporate ownership so is a bigger voice and a bigger target.

As to Astons with turbos there is a legal requirement to reduce their average emissions, the Cygnet is part of this but it isn't the whole solution, for manufacturers to survive in the current environmental climate then they have to design their future vehicles to be lower emissions.

I don't see it as that. I see it as more like a guy showing up with ten posts, all in threads he's started with links to his website, having his links chopped because you're supposed to pay for forum advertising.

Didn`t realise he was doing that, then yes the mods should remove his links and probably him as well, but I still wish they would say why they were removing links or posts.
