Recommend me a simple, tough camera

Time for a new camera - my Praktica is playing up and is way to complicated and fiddly to use.
What I actually need is a simple point and shoot, and all I need it for is holiday snaps. It's going to get some fairly hard use and physical handling so it'll have to be robust, reliable and made to last. I'd like the memory and battery capacity to take 100 or so photos of good enough quality to upload to a pc between downloads. Ideally it'll have a viewfinder but if not the screen must be bright and clear enough to use in strong sunlight. I'd like a flash and modest zoom and that's it - nothing more.
If Tonka Toys made cameras that's exactly what I'd buy, but they don't so over to you Chaps

Personally, I've had several Pentax Rugged models and currently have the W90. They've all performed well and only been replaced because of me "upgrading".
the W90 is nice tough little camera, which I believe won the Gadget Show "Test to Destruction" of Cameras. It stood up to everything they chucked at it - and they were brutal.

OK, it's Old, it's Simple, it's also about a tenner on ebay...
The Nikon Coolpix 2100 - I've had mine since new back in 2003/2004 and it's been practically everywhere without ever once failing on me. Indeed I still use it even now if I want something compact to take out instead of the Olympus. I've used other peoples P&S's and I still prefer the 2100.
Indeed some of the prints I had from Snapfish today were taken on it and at 6x4 you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between that and the SLR (although admittedly, they were outside mostly in good light).
But seriously, it's cheap so if you break it, it's throwaway money (well, nearly throwaway money). Takes double-A's too so get some decent rechargables and you're good for well over 1000 shots. Heck if you want you're welcome to borrow mine
