OK, so the tank is fairly large (not huge) and was quite dry, and I did put in the expensive stuff, but today I paid over £100 (£104) for the first time to fill up my car.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one ...

Anyone have any idea whether fuel prices will come down again, ever?

£130 to fill up Vauxhall Vivaro work van and that's pretty much every 5 days.

Since the government made a 1p drop and promised to keep prices down they've gone up from £1.29 to £1.36 a littre where I fill up.

Not like the Torries to lie to us eh?

I never fill more than half and that costs me close to £50.

Is it economical to fill up to the top unless you need it? Carrying all that weight around?

The rate that the prices consistently keep increasing, it's better to fill up to the top I reckon.

Weight needn't be a factor, just fold your rear seats down.

Prices around here (Hants)have dropped from a high of 138.9p to 134.9p in about 4 weeks, in the Midlands the cheapest I could find was 132.9p at Asda.

I doubt prices will drop below £1.20 per litre again, not with the green message they're hammering into the minds of kids and the blinkered government not realising that high fuel costs push everything up in price.

It depends, if you have to detour to go to the petrol station which is usually busy then yes, because its costs you petrol to get petrol. If you live next door to a quiet petrol station or you pass it every day then you're probably better off topping it up all of the time.

I think it's about £70 or so to fill the Passat up now. And I thought that was scary, for a diesel..

Petrol prices going down here in my bit of Kent! 138.9 at the M20 services last week now 136.9 Tesco down from 136.9 to 133.9.

Still obscene. But better.

A6 has been over £100 to fill up for a while. As soon as it went over £1.28 per litre for diesel (assuming the tank isnt totally empty)

Diesel is £136.9 where we are. After being used to chucking V-Power petrol in my old car it almost seems cheap.

£78 for 435 miles and to brim a Freelander from under 1/4 full doesn't seem that bad.

The 'torries' took 1p off the duty element as promised. They don't control the price you pay at the pump, only the duty and VAT element. You need to address your complaint in this instance to the oil companies, speculators and all those arabs having revolutions in oil producing countries. smile

Terrible. The other day I paid £0.72 a litre for LPG, filling up cost me about £35! Absolutely disgusting!

They promised to take steps to reduce revenue when the oil prices went up so the pump priced would stay the same. This hasn't happened though as they have another unecessary war in an oil producing country to pay for. The UN sticking it's nose in and sending the cavalry when a single unit and a sniper would have done the job. rolleyes

£100 gets me three quarters of a tank in the truck. Lasts about 160 miles.
