Can someone tell me if i have purchased the wrong type?
I have bought black Renovo for canvas, double duck and mohair coverings. Not for use on vinyl soft tops.

Oh cp.....is it the wrong stuff??

I suspect it probably is, there is a few flavours of it. One is the what you mention, stating not vinyl, wouldn't risk it personally, they are quite adamant. What you prob want is "Renovo Vinyl Soft Top Cleaner" or "Renovo Vinyl Soft Top Ultra Proofer". Descriptions at the bottom of this page:

I've always used the black renovo on my TVR roof. No problems. Why would you want to use a product for vinyl rooves when the wedge soft tops aren't vinyl or am getting it all wrong here as well?

Sounds spot on. The covering on a 350i convertible is Mohair.

What are you talking about this is a 350i not an MX-5.

Unless a cheap hood has been fitted in the past, it should be mohair - Streaky
