MOT - rear fog lights

On a '96 Griffith should the high intensity rear (fog) lights be checked during an MOT test?

I've just checked mine and they are not working, I had the headlights on dipped beam and the fog light warning lamp was illuminated, the bulbs look OK too so I assume that there is a wiring fault.

Yes it must work, 1980 onwards. Pre 1980 not mandatory but must work if fitted.

OK, thanks miniman. Looks I have some debugging to do, or just fit a new cable & switch.

Thanks for your help.

Silly me :embarrassed:, when I checked again with the car in the garage I could see that the fog lamp is working! I'd forgotten that it's on a double filament bulb with the tail lights.
