New wheels on Chim - at last!

Well, after all our discussions about wheels and tyres and 16's and 17's and 18's, i finally got mine!

Team Dynamics Mirage
7"x16" ET25 with Toyo 205/50ZR16
7.5"x17" ET 37 with Toyo 225/45ZR17

Well worth the Search and Wait - they look tremendous.



Hopefully mine will be ready on Monday. Did have a heartstopper when it appeared that you'd had the last pair of rear wheels in the correct size, but we managed to find a pair on the shelf elsewhere. Otherwise it might have been a 2 month wait for delivery!!

Those are lovely mate, they actually look better than the little spiders you can get. I may be tempted.

Were they any problems going up a size on the front and the rear i.e. spacers etc etc

No, i kept with standard rim widths, offsets, and tyre widths, just increased diameter by an inch front and rear and went down 5% on the profile from standard tyres.

No rubbing, no steering problems, no tramlining. In fact i think the car tramlines less than before!

I have upped the pressures though as the Toyo sidewalls are so soft, i'm now at 24 front and 26 rear (instead of 22/24) and it feels about right.

Very pleasant; they look like the car was designed for them. A refreshing change to see someone going for a practicle tyre size as well.
