I'd like to replace the rubber trim around the T350's roof panels. The trim attached to the panels and not the trim attached to the car. Does anyone know where to order this from? Could not find it on Car Builder Solutions.

try www.sealsplusdirect.co.uk they have pics of all the seals so you can see what you are buying. Good for the door/hoop seals etc also

Could you post a link when you've figured which one it is? All those pictures make my head swim; I'm quite happy for someone else to do the hard work wink

Seals Direct has a huge number of rubber trims but it is not there. They do have MG/Jaguar/Land Rover/Triumph seals but no TVR frown

I'll go by a local rubber specialist here to see if they can help out, I'll let you guys know.

I went to a local rubber specialist and they said it is quite an exotic trim. They had never seen it and could not get it from any supplier.

They did say I could go with a standard D-trim of the same size that the panel trim is but that would mean that I would not have the small U around the panel edge. I'm unsure about that. I guess it would stop the wind just as well but maybe the U around the edge protects the panels a bit, for instance when putting them in the panel bags? What do you guys think?

The other option is that all rubber trims can be custom made and they could make the exact TVR trim, but the minimum order is 20m, and one roofpanel trim is about 2m. They quoted 6 or 7 euro per meter plus 75 euro for the hull that is needed to make it. So it would be 200 euro for trim for 10 panels.

I could go ahead and order that, use 4m myself and keep the other 16m for other PH'ers interested in new trim or put it on Ebay It hardly weighs anything so the costs to send it to whoever is interested is only a few euro even from Holland. I guess including send costs it would be 40 pounds or so.

Does anyone know another option perhaps?

I had mine replaced/updated by Racing Green. Its now tidy and quiet up to about 80mph, however they didn't stick to rubber on the lids and it is loose when I take them out.

Give them a call and see if they remember doing mine.

For future reference Door/hoop seal is ETS58. Roof seal for the Tamora is also there. If you have a bit of the seal, the cross section pics should help as they are actual size. PITA I know but it might be the only way to find it.

Is yours the earlier or later clips? front/rear = later, side = earlier. Get the newer clips fitted if not fitted. Unless it is windy mine is quiet up to 3 figures.

I have the later roof panels on a 2004 T350t and they used to be good upto 70, but since i removed them one sunny day, they now start whistling at about 45. Any tips on getting a better seal, or experience on the best way to refit them?

It is usually just a case of 'pushing' them on the right amount - too far or too little and the seal won't be good. If you're in the car looking up you can see roughly how far forwards to push the panels. Or it could be that your brackets need adjustment?

Also, you can replace the seal in the roof panel - it is the same width as door draught excluder, this might help.

Whereabouts are you in Bucks? I'm near Wycombe if you want to compare panel fit?

I'm in Milton Keynes, but it could be a good excuse for a run out one sunday to compare.I'm tied up for the next few weeks visiting friends, but would like to look over another T350t as i only purchased my car at the end of last year, and would like to look at any mods/differences.

I have fitted a thicker rubber panel trim on my car. Jason @ STR8Six sorted and sourced it. While there is still noise at higher speeds, it is definitely much reduced. When the panels are fitted on perfectly it's pretty much as quiet as you can get with a targa unless you start looking for points on your licence.

Would you mind posting a picture of that trim? And did you replace the trim on the panel or the trim on the car or both?

Just on the panel. I'll get around to a picture, but honestly it looks exactly the same, just thicker!
