Front indicators HELP!

Please could someone tell me how the hell you get the front indicators out? Got the inspection window out, there is so much sealant around the unit it's unreal! Do they unscrew? Any help would be very much appreciated, cheers

They're stuck in with something like Sikaflex I believe.

Definitely not screwed in!

Just pull them out from the front, they're just bonded in.

If you're just trying to change the bulb then the holder just screws into the lens, if you want to take the lens out then it's just sealed/glued in place, cut the sealant as best you can then give it a tap with a rubber mallet to help it on it's way

Cheers guys was thinking of using a hoy knife/soldering iron or blow torch to burn that st out! Do you tap it from the front? Pull the whole unit out from the back? Trying to put clears in!!

I'm afraid this is a bit of a PITA job to do. You have to cut away as much of the silkaflex as you can before removing them.
Of course you have to un screw the bulb holder before removing the lense. But if there is silkaflex smothered over that, then you have to trim that too. Its a time consuming job, but worth the effort when its done.

Just be patient, and keep trimming untill the buggers start to ease out.

Just tap them repeatedly with a hammer. After about 50 taps they'll start to come free and you can push them in (from the front) with your thumbs

Get your arse on the floor and using your right foot (or left foot if you are a left pegger), apply pressure via a suitable block of wood or similar material maintaining pressure rather than thumping it!

It will give.

No kicking!

If you just apply pressure you run the risk of cracking the surrounding GRP. The tapping method worked for both of mine and they had a serious amount of black stuff holding them in.

It all depends how heavy handed (or footed) you are. Common sense should prevail, if they are bonded in using sikaflex or similar they will have some give in any case.

I've done quite a few in the past and never had a problem. Admittedly, hand pressure was all that was needed for mine

Very helpful guys, thanks a lot! I will use a combination i think. I am very careful around the car working on it. Maybe i could be too over cautious, i am replacing the inspection panels as had no heads left (needed ripping out!), also using a4 grade stainless fixing all the way now(pozi's on panels), so no rusty screws for changing bulbs again/or lights!
