I was thinking today, that surely, driving at 70 on a motorway, on a long straight line, when there isnt that many people about, your mind would start to wander, and surely thats how some crashes happen, with people not paying attention. So, surely, to reduce crashes, the governemt should increase the speed limits, say, to 100, because then, you will be travelling at a faster speed, wghich means you would be paying more attention to the road, and whats around you, meaning better reaction times surely?

sorry if none of it makes sense, slowly falling asleep here..

Just a thought...

More importantly, if you are travelling around 50% faster, you will spend 50% less time driving so less chance of causing or being involved in an accident.

My fees are based on results, I will expect my cheque in the post.

Trouble is if the limit is 100 there is the temptation to do 120

Also, pedestrian you would have hit will step into the road behind you. Win-win. Not sure what they're doing on the motorway, mind.

And 120mph would also mean you would be paying even more attention to the roads than you would be when doing 100mph, so it works out for everybody smile

If I ever find myself driving on a motorway and a start to feel tired I make sure to pull off and go through the A and B roads to keep me awake. It works.

Not sure where I'm going here.... I guess its a similar principle to the OP!

Less likely to report something you can't remember/not sure if you caused. Dangerous driving statistics will drop overnight.

We might as well make it 150mph then!

That should make the pensionsers doing 56mph pay attention.

I hear you're also less likely to suffer horrendous injuries if you're drunk as you are all relaxed and st. win-win-win!

As I have pointed out before - God has already issued us with the correct (universal) speed limit.

Im not sure id pay any more attention at 100mph than i do at 70mph. TBH i think it would just encourage people to see 100mph as a target, not a limit.

Have a 70mph recommended limit but no convictions below 100mph.
