As a logical type of chap, who can tell that my car windows are transparent by dint of the fact I can see where I'm going, I always surprise myself with the amount of furtling in my nostrils that I achieve when driving, in plain view of everybody else on the road.

Have a good trip, although a journey of that distance would present real danger of nasal damage to a dedicated picker like myself.

hehe

Following my trip to Leicester two weeks ago there were a few headlight flashers, waves and thumbs up from a few drivers and one chap beeped his horn and shouted "Bad Parking Legend!" at a set of traffic lights. So I thought I'd warn you in advance this time.

Must be hell for you celebrity types.

Why can't they leave you to just live your life.

Be strong.

Did you make it in one piece?

It'd be nice if you'd let us know, leaving us to worry about you all day.

Set off fully prepared.

Made it via motorways in two and a half hours. Had a few waves and light flashers but on the motorway people just didn't like being overtaken by an old Rover. One BMW driver was so determined to pass me back he nearly missed his exit and cut two people up to make it. Very nice chap gave me a pair of Vitesse wheels to go with the bumper for free. wink

On the way out of Bath my slightly slippy clutch became an extra crispy clutch. I stopped at the top of a one in three hill to let the friction plate cool down and have a few cookies and a chap from the PPC Forum stopped to see if everything was alright. I decided to take "A" and "B" roads home (not wanting to risk breaking down on a Motorway) and there was an interesting convoy on the A605. Some kind of articulated animal transporter (from the smell I'd say pigs), a Voyager TD running on used oil and smelled like a chip pan fire in a Kebab shop, a SAAB 9-3 with a blown oil seal on the turbo bellowing out white smoke every gear change, my wiffy clutch and behind me an Audi A5 convertible with the hood down. I think it was the first time I have ever felt sorry for an Audi driver. wink

Got home in three and a quarter hours. Covered 472 miles for a total of £50 petrol and a new clutch (£40 and an afternoons work). All this to collect a £10 bumper and skirt I bit on when I was drunk. silly

Now I'm back in the flatlands the clutch is fine in the first three gears but a bit more slippy than before in forth and fifth so good for a few miles yet. I had a look through the cars extensive history and there is no record of the car ever having a new clutch so it's probably the one that it left the factory with. wink

Some people have been arrested for that...

wink

Unless you're a regular in Bristol, there's also a similar Rover that wheezes around Horfield - I did a double take the first time I saw it.
