I've trawled Google extensively and there are various suggestions as to how to do this. It also seems that not all items can be reset by non-BMW dealers, e.g. oil and pollen filters can, brakes can't.

But I can't find a definitive answer from a UK respondent, i.e. lots of the responses are US or Aus.

I've read various reset methodologies using the driver's controls. Would a BMW dealer use this methodology to reset after servicing or would they reset items via the OBDII?

My car is going into my preferred mechanic tomorrow for oil & filter, pollen filter and discs, pads and sensors all round. In a brief conversation he did say that he 'something' which he plugs in which he *thinks* will reset the service computer. Or is his kit likely to be for older BMWs and the only route to reset is via the dash controls?

Would be good if someone could state absolutely the reset process too. I've got a 2006 model.

Thanks thumbup

On a 2006 car you can reset all of those via the stalk, can't remember the procedure but google should find it.

The brake one will only work if you fit new sensors which you are doing.

I know this as I've done it myself.

Yep - that's pretty much what I've settled on as being the most likely. I even translated a bunch of posts from a German car website hehe

Not on a 2006 car, new sensor and a stalk reset does it. I have done it on 2 cars.

Brake pad warning isn't lit on mine. Discs look shagged so am changing everything.
