PS2 Controller stuffed

Seems my no1 controller has given up the ghost. It has had 2 1/2 years of hard use to I suppose that's ok.

What it does pull to the left constantly. First noticed on driving games, it quickly got worst until it's impossible to use. Even does it in menus.
I imagine it's the analogue stick, as that's all I ever use.

So I was thinking of opening it up and seeing if I could fix it. Anyone else had anything like this and any sucess?
