So VXR has gone from 418 to 354 and CV8 from 382 to 304

That's a lot of lost cars!

Does this take into account cars that are Sorn'd and dont have tax?

If you open the link in 2008 the numbers for cv8's went up. I thought that non were registered after 2007

I believe there was still some registered after 2007.

The statistics are based on vehicle licensing (tax to us common people), so any vehicles that are SORN will not be included, neither will any that are evading tax....

Can the Monaro and Monaro VXR figures be split into 2004 and 2005 year models?

I think SORN'd are still included, as the owner has made a declaration. I don't believe dealers have to comply with SORN, so their stock may not be in the figure.

However, if I read right, of the 266 LS3 VXR8s registered, 44 are missing, and I guess a fair few of them would have been written off due to the crazy price of parts.

Having seen Top Gear last night, I can only assume someone has made a website that queries a database that's hopefully a bit more refined than the earlier spreadsheet...

I'm sure that when I was buying my monaro I saw and HSV Avalanche advertised for sale. Wonder what happened to that?

yes That was one of Tom Walkinshaw's old cars. I saw it for sale as well - though if it's in a dealers, it's probably not taxed. wink

It does include SORN cars as well, so I believe if one of them is not taxed and not SORN'd, the owner is going to get fined...

It gives a rough estimate at least...

Figures might be slightly affected by cars such as mine, a 6.0 VXR 'Ro, whose V5 says is a 5.7ltr 'Ro!

A bit of a regurgitation of an old thread.....

So how many left these days? And how many original owners?

Asking, as mine sailed through another MOT today. 04 CV8 and have owned it from new.

I was thinking of selling it when the Hellcat came along a couple of years ago, but drove it back up the A9 from Inverness last week, and realised its just not meant to be sold on! So looks like 2 V8s in the garage may become more of a permanent feature than I hoped.... But as they say, you can never have too many V8s....
