Carbon cone filter covers

I have run the cone filters (not from carbon cerbie chap) and they sound fantastic! Apparently they will however rob you of bhp ? Not sure of the design of these ones addresses that issue and the hot air issue with cone filters (ie the standard ones are under the bonnet without cold 'ram' air).

I have been thinking of running cone filters for a while (just for the noise tbh) and this looked like a good solution as you could run with them connected to the front airbox when you absolutely must have every BHP ( )and then remove the link pipe when you just want a bit of extra noise

I had thought about a similar set-up using BMC CDAs (Carbon Dynamic Airboxes) - I saw a similar set-up through the back window of a ferrari. I have one on the Alfa at the moment and that's fine for 3 litres so I expect one on each bank of the Cerb would give easy breathing. Don't know if it would actually make any difference to performance though, the AJP isn't strangled by the current panel filter is it?

there were plenty of tests done with air supply at the heights of the AJP tunning developments and the cone filters did rob bhp. afaik

The ones that Carboncerbie does, are still connected to a front airbox just like the standard set up. Don't confuse them with the Chavvy K&N Type Cone filters, those ones definitely rob horses, avoid them.

Yeah that's why I liked the look of the Carbon Cerbie cone filter covers, you still get the direct air feed from the front. I think I'll contact them to find out what filters are needed to go with them.

Green cotton filters, I have them on mine.

tbh I like them, they'll heat up no more than the standard induction system plus they are dry and will not clogg up with leaves and crap like the standard one. I suspect the surface area is slightly greater also.

However, It would be cheaper just to put a new foam filter in the front every 6 months as they're only £20!
