Just took the bonnet struts of my coupe for a clean. Non locking gas bar has plenty of pressure. The strut that locks has about the same sort of pressure as a bicycle pump. Is it ok or knackered?

Mine is the same. You could get some later model one's that hold themselves up. Again they come up for sale on FCCUK or you might get them new from Alternative Auto's .

Hi mag, with both struts I can lift and once locked keep the bonnet up. I just wondered if the locking one was supposed to be so easy to extend and retract.

I think it should have some pressure in it, will have a look at mine tomorrow as the locking one is in the boot - the little lug it clips on to on the bonnet has snapped off so currently my bonnet strut is a piece of wood!

Just realised that might sound odd having just posted on another thread here that my Coupe has been reliable!
