When I went past one once it went to -- after 49mph. I guess it would depend on what the maximum range is for checking a car's speed for the maximum speed it can display.

They max out at a certine number.

30MPH one displayed a flashing "40" when 40mph was exceeded.

It's only what i've beent told. Not from personal experience.

I have absolutly never, ever, ever spent a very enjoyable 35 minutes on a normally 50 limit road very late at night trying to get exactly 99mph on a temporary one of these signs. Why do i know i have never done it, because it would be naughty, highly illegal and stupid.
