Following on from the tv progs of the last cpl of nights about Queen, a simple question and poll. No, the list is far from exhaustive but then Im damned if I can think of anyone who genuinely gets close to that lot in the realms of the popular world.

Out of the list I voted The Beatles, simply they because they were the first group to really try and be a cut above simple pop. But it's a silly question really as they were all good.

Where The Beatles score is that they showed other groups - both their contemporaries and their successors - what they could do.
